Here we are in February and I am just now blogging about Christmas. I thought about just skipping it, but I love Christmas so much that I just couldn't bring myself to do that. So instead this will be very much a picture post and not so much narrative (not that that is a huge change).
Christmas officially starts in our home on the day before Christmas Eve. That is when Elfkin heads back to the North Pole to help Santa in the final prep for Christmas. He leaves us a note to tell us if we have made the naughty or nice list. If we made the nice list he also leaves us a present to open that night. I'm not sure what would happen if we were on the naughty list, and I hope we never find out. This year we were in the nice list, so our package contained a Ice Age Christmas movie (which was really short and not worth the money Santa would have spent on it). We also all got some new jammies.

Then on Christmas Eve we headed up to Scott's mom's house once Scott got off work. (Have I mentioned how much I love the fact that he no longer works in retail and we actually get to spend holidays together?) As always, there was lots of yummy food to be had and most importantly a tub of Leland's super awesome chex mix (that's the reason I married into the family. LOL). Zoey got to open presents from Grandma Bev and Grandpa Leland. She had a really nice time.

We then headed back to our house and Tiffany and Trey came over to open presents. Growing up, we always opened all our presents on Christmas Eve, so since Scott doesn't care how we do Christmas, that is the tradition I am doing with our family.

Once Tia and Trey headed back home, we got ready for bed. Zoey put out some cookies and milk for Santa and some carrots for his reindeer.
Elfkin was correct and Zoey was indeed on the nice list. She got a Frozen bed tent, a Little People castle, a My Little Pony body pillow, some boats, a book about trains, a game for her Innotab, and a stuffed zebra.

For Christmas day we stay home. No traveling for us. That was Scott's request for how we celebrate, so I was happy to comply. If people want to see us, they have to come to us. Scott's dad always comes over before heading to the Poe family Christmas. Tiffany and Trey also come over and have Christmas dinner with us.
Our Christmas was not over just because Christmas day had come and gone. We still had Christmas parties to attend once Scott's sister got into town. Up first was the Poe family. We all gathered at Aunt Sherry's house. Zoey had a great time playing with her cousins, Neko, Robbie, and Jack.
The next day we had a party at Aunt Phyl's house to celebrate with the Moran family.

And that was our Christmas. It was a really great Christmas.
