What Zoey is Reading Updated

This past month hasn't been very good for reading new books. We haven't picked anything up from the book store in awhile. I will have to remedy that so we have some different books for nap time reading.

CURRENTLY READING: Percy Jackson and the Olympians - The Lightning Thief

The gods of Olympus are alive in the 21st Century. They still fall in love with mortals and have children who might become great heroes, but most of these children meet horrible fates at the hands of monsters by the age of twelve. Only a few learn the truth of their identity and make it to Half Blood Hill, a Long Island summer camp dedicated to training young demigods. Such is the revelation that launches young Percy Jackson on a quest to help his real father, Poseidon, avert a war among the gods. With the help of Grover the satyr and Annabeth the daughter of Athena, Percy must journey across the United States to catch a thief who has stolen the original weapon of mass destruction - Zeus’ master bolt. Along the way, they face a host of mythological enemies determined to stop them. Most of all, Percy must come to terms with a father he has never known, and an Oracle that has warned him of betrayal by a friend.

I really wish I hadn't of watched the movie before reading the book because they are very different, and it is throwing me off. Despite that fact, I am really enjoying story time with this book and look forward to when we read the next book in the series.

JUST FINISHED: Goosebumps: Stay Out of the Basement

Dr. Brewer is doing a little plant-testing in his basement. Nothing to worry about. Harmless, really. But Margaret and Casey Brewer are worried about their father. especially when they ... meet ... some of the plants he is growing down there.
Then they notice that their father is developing plantlike tendencies. In fact, he is becoming distinctly weedy - and seedy.
Is it just part of their father's "harmless" experiment? Or has the basement turned into another little shop of horrors?

This book was better than the first Goosebumps book we read, but is still lacking in some excitement. However, I will say that it took a turn I was not expecting.

Mother's Day

I decided I better get blogging again and do a post about my first Mother's Day. Better late than never right?

It was honestly kind of a lack luster day becasue Scott had to work, which meant we didn't really do anything to celebrate. However, we did go out to dinner with Scott's grandmother, dad, and Connie on Saturday, so I at least got a free meal. LOL!

Here is Zoey at the restaurant. I love the old school high chair!

On the actual day of Mother's Day, I got up and went to church with Zoey, which was a pretty nice way to spend the morning. I haven't been to church in forever, so it was nice to be able to share that with my baby girl.

Here is my baby girl asleep in church. She tired herself out from all the singing she did. LOL!

I spent most of the day working and trying to do some chores around the house. However, Zoey and I did spend some time outdoors enjoying the first sunny day we had in awhile.

My gift? Scott and Zoey got me tickets to Illumination Festival in September, where I will get to see some of my favorite bands including Hawk Nelson, Fireflight, and Hyland. I'm pretty excited about it!!!
