Fall Festivities

Fall has come and gone and we had a lot of fun during what is probably my favorite time of year.

We took a trip to Amish Country with Scott's mom and step dad in September. What started out as a rainy, cold day actually ended up turning into a pretty nice one. Our first stop on our trip was at Hershberger's Farm and Bakery. We had some time to kill there waiting for Scott's mom, so we enjoyed looking at the different wares and getting lots of yummy treats from the bakery. We also looked at the different animals they had. I made a HUGE parenting mistake by giving Zoey, who will eat anything you put in front of her, an ice cream cone full of goat food so she could feed the goats. Needless to say, that didn't go so well. Zoey became very upset when the goats tried to take her ice cream cone and held onto it, which of course made the goats try to eat her. It was not a pleasant experience. LOL! However, once we got her calmed down, we went on a buggy ride, which she really enjoyed. She had a huge smile on her face the whole time.

This horse was huge!!!

Once Bev and Leland caught up with us, we headed to Berlin to explore some of the shops. Zoey and Scott weren't huge fans of this part of the trip, but they were troopers. I enjoyed looking at all the cool stuff in the shops, but didn't end up buying anything.

My absolute favorite fall activity is going to the pumpkin patch. This is going to be a yearly tradition for us and I think Lynd Fruit Farm will be the place unless we move out of the area. I love this place. This year since Zoey was a little bit bigger, we not only picked a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, but also did some apple picking. Zoey seemed to think that was pretty cool. This year in addition to Scott's mom and step dad joining us, we were also joined by my sister and niece (who moved to Ohio just a few weeks prior to our trip. Yay!!!). We had tons of fun picking apples, getting a pumpkin, and exploring the market. We also went through the corn maze, which I was super excited about. Unfortunately, Scott was right and Zoey was not really old enough to appreciate this activity, She started off strong, but soon became bored and therefore a handful. We ended up following a group of people who seemed to know where they were going in order to find out way out.
