Kentucky Train Ride

Last weekend was our neighbor, Robbie's, birthday party, so we packed into the car and drove to Lexington, Kentucky for the day. We left Columbus early in order to stop at the outlets that are in between here and Cincinnati to pick up some new shoes for Scott. This was actually his idea because his shoes were falling apart. I'm pretty sure his toe was actually coming out the side. You know it has to be pretty bad if he's willing to go shopping.

We then hoped back in the car. Overall it was a 5 hour trip (including shopping time). By the time we got there, Zoey was diffidently ready to be out of the car. We spent a little time saying hello to family, eating some pizza, and relaxing.

We then hopped on the train for a ride. I think it was about 90 minutes long including the stop part way through. Zoey seemed pretty excited at first, but soon her 2 year old attention span caught up with her and she was a handful to wrangle. Half way through the train stopped and we were able to get off and stretch our legs a little. We also were able to get up on the front of the train for a picture. We then hopped back on and headed back to the train museum. Zo was super tired by this point.

Someone was tired

Since it was almost 8:00 by the time we got back to the train museum, we left right away. Scott didn't want to spend Father's Day in the car, so we decided to do the trip all on Saturday. Made it back to the house around 11:30. Zoey was super good in the car and immediately went to sleep.

We didn't get to stay for cake and the opening of presents, but here is a picture of Robbie's cake/cupcakes.
